Protecting vulnerable populations from digital threats through education, awareness, and cyber psychology
A mission forged in the aftermath of betrayal and loss
"When technology evolves faster than awareness, people become prey."
Shields from Scams was born from one of the darkest moments in my journey. At my lowest point, while struggling with financial pressures from medical bills and personal challenges, I fell victim to a sophisticated scam that devastated my savings and investments.
The psychological impact was as crushing as the financial loss. The shame, self-blame, and sense of violation that follows being scammed is something most people don't understand unless they've experienced it themselves. During my psychology studies, I discovered that my first specialized session was on cyber scams and cyber psychology - a field I didn't even know existed.
That moment of realization became my calling. Every day, thousands of people fall prey to increasingly sophisticated scams, yet education and awareness remain woefully inadequate. The solutions that exist are either too technical, too expensive, or simply don't address the psychological vulnerabilities that scammers exploit.
Shields from Scams exists to ensure that no one else has to experience what I did - and to turn my painful experience into protection for others.
